Kirk Deeter is the editor-in-chief of Trout Unlimited media, which includes TROUT magazine, TROUT digital, the TROUT Weekly E-newsletter, and other specialty imprints. He has covered fishing, outdoor sports and conservation for many years throughout the world, from Tasmania and New Zealand to north of the Arctic Circle in Russia, from the jungles of South America to native villages in Alaska. His work has appeared in Field& Stream as an editor-at large, WIRED, USA Today, The New York Times, Garden&Gun and Men's Journal, as well as many other print and digital publications. He is the author of several books, most notably The Little Red Book of Fly Fishing which he co-wrote with Charlie Meyers. He has been a TU life member since well before he joined the staff, and now lives in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, with his wife of 32 years, Sarah.
